Kashmir's Morning Witnesses 2 Separate Gunfights, One In Kulgam & Other In Anantnag

South Kashmir (9 April) – Two separate gunfights broke out between militants & government forces in Kulgam & Anantnag districts of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday morning, police said on twitter.

A gunfight broke out between militants & government forces in Chaki Samad area of Damhal Hanjipora (DH Pora) in Kulgam District of south kashmir, said an official.

“Gunfight has started at ChakiSamad, DH Pora area of #Kulgam district. Jammu Kashmir Police and other Security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” a police spokesman tweeted.
In an another tweet, Kashmir Police Zone informed that 2nd encounter between Militants & Government forces is underway in Sirhama area of neighbouring Anantnag district.

Reports said the gunfight started after a joint team of Police & Army's 03 RR launched a cordon and search operation in Sirhama Srigufwara area of Bijbehara in South Kashmir's Anantnag district. 

Kashmir Police Zone confirmed the exchange of fire between militants and government forces through a tweet.
